FAQ

What is RICRAC?

A free daily game: every day, 7 questions with a number for an answer (a height, a length of time, a record, a price…). A counter shoots up toward the answer, and you have to stop it as close as you can without going over.

When does the new game come out?

Every day at midnight Eastern Time. Everyone plays the same 7 questions on the same day. The French version switches over at midnight Paris time.

Can I play again?

Yes, as many times as you like once you’ve finished your first game: tap “Play this day again” on the results screen. Only your first game counts in the player rankings and your streak; the rest are unranked.

You can play past days too, from the monthly calendar or the archive.

If you reload the page while the counter is running, the question just starts over, no penalty.

Why is the counter so fast?

It speeds up: its value is multiplied by ten at regular intervals, so the same game can aim for 12 or 300 million. That’s what the brake is for: tap once to slow it down, tap again to stop.

Where do the questions come from?

They’re written by hand, with a public source for every answer, shown after you stop. Each day mixes easy, medium and hard questions on all kinds of topics: science, history, sports, video games, weird records…

I think an answer is wrong

Email us at the address on the Legal page, with your source, and we’ll fix it as soon as we can.

Feet or meters?

The ft / m button at the top of the screen switches units. Questions that measure something (heights, distances, weights…) are converted.

How do I challenge a friend?

When you finish, tap “Challenge a friend” and send the link. Your friend plays the same questions, even days later, and sees your stop after each of theirs, never before. Then you’ll see their score on your results.

Do I need an account?

No. Your streak and scores are saved on your device. More on the Privacy page.

Where can I find past questions?

In the archive: every finished day is posted there with its 7 questions, the answers, the fun facts and the sources. You can also play it before reading the answers.

Is it free?

Yes. The site may show ads to cover its costs.
